Between 1631 to 1648 Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan had began
construction of the TAJ MAHAL , He wants
it to be an Undying Monument so that future generation can praise the temple of
Eternal love
Meanwhile on a little Hill at Bandra
local Christians came together under Jesuit Inspiration to build a church where
future Generation can come and Worship at the Feet of another Beautiful Lady

The Church of Mount Mary is built in
1640 by the command of Captain Of Salsette
,
It was enlarged and made into a
chapel for the use of the Garrison Stationed at the block house at Bandra Point
which we call today BANDSTAND
The Pious Captain could never dreamt
that the chapel will become a place , where the ANGELS OF GOD will Ascend and
Descend with the prayers of Thousands
upon Thousands who will throng the shrine
Today The Shrine Of Mount Mary as taken its place as one of the
most popular and miraculous churches in Bandra
